The mission of the Lincoln Chess Foundation is to provide a welcoming and supportive community environment to foster the pursuit of chess and to raise awareness and appreciation for the many benefits of chess. It is our purpose to provide both youth and adults with the means to study and play chess, improve their skills, and participate in events. Lincoln Chess Foundation will foster opportunities for chess entertainment and education, such as tournaments and festivals, seminars and lectures, and private and public lessons, and we will lend support to individuals and institutions who share our goals.
Goals:
To foster a rich and competitive chess environment for Lincolnites to pursue chess as entertainment and for its educational benefits.
To provide Lincoln with a community resource for chess materials and play.
To facilitate a weekly gathering for chess players to pursue their interest in and passion for chess.
To hold chess education events, including workshops, camps, lectures and lessons.
To maintain a website that provides access to chess information and activities.
To organize chess tournaments and to assist other organizations with their tournaments and activities.
To support chess publications, research and study.
