The Lincoln Chess Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that promotes chess activities in the city of Lincoln and state of Nebraska. The Foundation sponsors and organizes chess events for every age level in order to foster the development of players and introduce new players to the joys and challenges of chess. LCF has a rich history , which includes hosting the 1969 and 1975 U.S. Open Chess Tournaments.

We work cooperatively with the Nebraska State Chess Association ( NSCA ) supporting their chess publication, The Gambit . LCF encourages Lincoln's youth to participate in scholastic chess programs and lends resources to school clubs .
LCF youth chess camps have included instruction by national and international players, coaches and authors: Grand Master Miron Sher, National Master Bruce Pandolfini, Expert David McEnulty, U.S. Womens Champion Alexey Root, Dr. Tom O'Connor, International Master John Watson and Nebraska State Champion Keaton Kiewra. We have provided scholarships to scholastic players to attend national events such as Susan Polgar's National Invitational and The Denker Tournament of High School Champions.
